Bio-Botanical Research, Inc. was founded in 1987 by licensed acupuncturist and medical
herbalist Rachel Fresco Salanda, L. Ac., in response to health care practitioners’ need for effective solutions to address
problems associated with intestinal ecology, immune system disregulation and detoxification.
Synergistic combinations of botanicals have been chosen from healing traditions
worldwide for our specialized formulations. The broad-spectrum activity of these botanicals has been verified by laboratory
testing and clinical usage. This website is intended to provide education and resources to assist health care providers in
their efforts to overcome challenging clinical issues and meet the health goals of their patients.
Bio-Botanical
Research products are formulated by and are designed for health professionals. All botanicals used in our formulations are
of the highest quality, are tested for purity, and come with certificates of analysis. There are no fillers or additives used,
and all products are hypo-allergenic and are free of stearates and steric acid. As of July 2001 vegi-caps have been substituted
for gelatin caps in manufacturing all encapsulated products.
Independent laboratories are used to test for effectiveness and all products are tested in clinical usage
by physicians before being added to our product line. Our manufacturing facilities are Federally and State licensed to produce
nutritional supplements and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPÉs). Product testing using American Association
of Analytical Chemists (AOAC) methods are standard operating procedure.

Advanced Formula Biocidin® is a potent
broad-spectrum combination of botanicals for systemic use and for addressing the gastrointestinal tract. The formula includes
berberine from Gentian and Goldenseal, powerful plant tannins from Black Walnut, medical grade essential oils including Oregano,
Tea Tree and Lavender, and other botanicals to support detoxification and the immune system.
Advanced Formula Biocidin® is available in liquid or liquid filled capsules, and
may be ordered as part of the Bioclear™ Cleansing Program. Complimentary samples for health professionals are available
upon request. Original Biocidin® will continue to be available during the transitional period.
Summary of Improvements in new Advanced Formula Biocidin
- Now available in new liqui-caps for improved absorption. One liqui-cap is equal
to four tablets of the original formula, costs 15% less for a one month supply, and contains no tableting excipients.
- May be taken on an empty stomach.
